Today, golf course managers tend to use lithium-ion units because they offer several advantages over other types of batteries. 1. The Weight
Lithium batteries weigh a fraction of the weight of lead-acid units. So, they have an edge over other alternatives. Therefore, the cart can accommodate more people and carry a lot of stuff to another location at a faster speed. And there will be no impact on the performance either.
Typically, golf carts powered by lead-acid batteries give a tough time when climbing a hill. By contrast, lithium batteries have no such problem. So, it’s possible to transport more golfers to the course in a short period of time.

4. Longer Cycle Life
The lifespan of a lithium battery is much longer than other types. On average, these units offer a charge/discharge cycle of up to 5000. By contrast, traditional batteries will be useless after 1,000 cycles. With the passage of time, this can help save plenty of time.
Although lithium batteries have high price tags, they help save a lot of time and money as time goes by. You don’t need to check the acid levels in the batteries.
5. Better Technology
Lithium-ion batteries feature an in-built BMS, which refers to Battery Management System. The role of this system is to make sure that these units don’t get over-depleted or over-charged by accident.
If the power storage unit heats up, the safety circuits inside the battery can prevent the unit from heating up.
In short, these are just some convincing reasons to use a lithium-ion battery rather than a lead-acid one.
