The Greatest Gift From Existence

Knowing how to fully fail and succeeding anyway is the greatest gift existence has to offer. You may or may not agree with me, but the annals of objective reality sure do. “Lucky Drifting into Success” or succeeding the first time without trying hard is the game of the genuine devil of life: That devil is in seemingly many forms, but it is a devil unified by the very concept of luck, especially luck at the beginning, “dumb luck”, and “it just happened to be”.

Indeed, without skill, permanent, repeatable success will not happen. Depending on any luck genuinely, however justified is gambling in the most genuine sense.

So, I will venture to say this: All addiction to gambling, drugs, alcohol, vice, fearful stealing and everything negative in life comes down to seeking the genuinely unearned “thrill” or “high” of laziness “that works” or succeeding with the absence of skill and earned effort. So, the greatest gift in existence is understanding, skill and the ability not to drift or depend on luck fully without earned skills.

The biggest loss, then, is being too lazy to develop the necessary skill and competence that earned, consistent, realistic effort brings.

We all want “the prize”, but are we willing to do the work to make “the prize” permanent instead of depend on luck and genuine gambling on temporary success at the beginning or a one-time thing? Always, that question haunts my mind about Mastery in reality. Always, I think of the preparation consistently permanent mastery takes, and the skill that it would take to live a competent eternity in reality.

The worst words one can say, then, in my book are: “I am willing to gamble on it.” I prefer the reality of the skill of certainty over gambling or to spin this a certain way an old Billie Holliday song may go: “God bless the child who has his/her/their own.” What I think a person with their own is could be fully developed skill to earn rather than depend on luck, gambling, drifting wins and chance. “It just happened to be” is not a good excuse anyway, successful or not. “It just happened to be” is one of the ultimate excuses for drifting, gambling, luck and not being able to succeed again. To get beyond all that, develop skill, certainty, and above all do the work, pay the dues, and get good genuinely! The only way to go if you want to win, really.
